By mfanAugust 27, in Dating Advice. There's a coworker I think is nice and I'd like to get to know better. She's married and has a 5-year old daughter. Can you give me some specific conversation openers that would work well? I'm shy. Obviously "ask about her husband, ask about her child". But what for example should I ask? What are good things about her child or her husband to ask about?
I don't know how to get started. Thanks very much. I find it very easy making conversation with married women There is absolutely no pressure because nothing can happen or nothing should happen. OP, I don't think it'd be much different from someone who is unmarried. Why do you want to get to know her better other than hoping to get involved in an affair with her? Having friends is a good thing. Also, good people can lead to other good people. Other single-good people. I don't see anything wrong with wanting to make conversation with your coworker, married or not. A woman might ask the same thing about another woman at work.
Of course if there's romantic interest, that's another story. Maybe you shouldn't mention her family until it feels natural to do so. I don't know how much you two have talked already, but you could talk about other topics as well, what's going around you at the time, what you have both been up to etc. She could mention something herself about them that would give you a better idea of what to ask in response.
I would've thought mentioning the family every now and again in a positive way would be a good method to reduce guessing of romanticising.
Like when talking to a cute, non-single, co-worker recently I would mention her boyfriend the word I mean at least say once every 2 to 3 conversations at least. I should remind people though of my personal situation which makes anything I say null and void! I think talking to someone married would be just like talking to someone single I'm fairly shy around anyone new, be it girl, guy, married or single.
At work it would be fun to have more people to talk to but almost everyone else is married. If I met a nice single guy at work who was looking to meet someone, I'd be thinking of all my single friends I could hook them up with!

Anberlin Posted August 27, Posted August 28, I wouldn't stress too much about getting buddy-buddy with a married woman, though. Archived This topic is now archived and is closed to further replies.
